Roseburg Disposal Recycling bins must be at the curb by 6:00 am to ensure they are collected.
Why Recycle?
Today we face numerous environmental problems contributed by man.
What Can I recycle?
HOVER OVER EACH ITEM TO LEARN A FUN FACT
Corrugated Cardboard
Flatten, and place at curb side. 4ft. by 4ft. or smaller. Remove all wire and plastic. Waxed cardboard cannot be recycled. No cereal boxes, milk cartons or shoe boxes.
How much?
It is estimated that 145 pounds of cardboard is generated each year for every person. That’s over 192,000 tons annually in Oregon.
Aluminum
Rinse clean. Beverage cans are accepted.
Ready for a Netflix evening?
Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for 3 hours.
Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles only (Please rinse clean). Throw away all lids. All bottles must have a wide base and narrow pour spout. Milk bottles are a good example.
Good Job Oregon!
Plastic will take 700 years before it will even start to decompose. Recycling one ton of plastic saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space.
Motor Oil
Pour oil into non-breakable containers with tight fitting screw-on caps (bleach or milk jugs).
NO PAINT THINNER OR OTHER HAZARDOUS LIQUIDS.
Do you like to swim?
Every 100 gallons of recycled oil saves 65 gallons of new oil. One gallon of oil in a lake will produce a five-acre oil sheen.
TIN
Rinse thoroughly. No Food! No Lids!
Recycling is easy!
Tin recycling saves an estimated 2,600 kilowatt hours per ton.
